If
you aspire to become a wedding photographer, then you must know how to use
light (both natural as well as artificial) to take a romantic shot. Portrait
photography under natural light gives you a greater leeway to experiment with
your shots. As natural light is constantly changing, you must adapt your
technique to ensure that you get the best shot possible in that light. This
will give you a leg up to enter the list of the best pre-wedding photographers in Delhi NCR. Portrait photography,
especially one that is taken under natural light requires a lot of skills and
experience. If you want to take a backlit photograph of the wedding couple so
that you can create a dreamy effect, then you have to work hard on your skills.
To help you achieve proficiency over taking backlit portrait photography, we
have shared with you a few tips that we have sourced from a few well-known destination
wedding photographers in Delhi NCR.
1). When you are taking a shot against the light,
then it can create flare or haze in the photos. To avoid this, you must place
the subjects in front of the light in such a way that you can control how much
light enters the camera. You can also place the subjects under a shade or
beneath a tree wherein the sunlight naturally filters through the leaves. This
will help you to capture the background in perfect detail or you may create a
dreamy bokeh effect.
2). You must manually check whether adequate light
is falling on the face of the subject by using the spot metre. If you do not
use it, then you may not able to calculate the amount of light and your subject
may appear darker than the background. Using spot metergives you the right
exposure.
3). You can also use a reflector to light up the
subject which can get overshadowed by the brighter background.
4). You must use the golden hour to shoot backlit
portrait photographs.
